How we rate tools
Every tool gets the same formula, from public facts we check on the company's own pages and on public rating sites. Partners can't pay for a better score, and tools we don't earn from are scored the same way.
The score, out of 10
| Part | Weight | How it's measured |
|---|---|---|
| Cost for a new business | 35% | The cheapest plan a new owner could actually use. Free = 10; up to $10/mo = 9; $25 = 8; $50 = 7; $100 = 5; $200 = 4; more = 3. Unpublished prices get 5. One-time fees are spread over a year. Factoring uses the published rate. |
| Owner ratings | 30% | The average of public ratings (App Store, Google Play, Trustpilot), weighted so ratings with more reviews count more. Under 20 reviews is ignored; no ratings = 5. |
| Spanish and support | 20% | Spanish app and support 5, Spanish support 4, Spanish website 2.5, English only 0; plus phone support 3, chat 1, 24/7 help 1. |
| Openness | 15% | Published prices 4, a free plan 3 (or a free trial 2), a mobile app 2, and facts we could confirm on at least three pages 1. |
What we check
Plans and prices, fees, features that matter in the first year, what you need to sign up, Spanish support, and public ratings. Every review lists its sources and the date we checked them. When a company doesn't publish something, we say so instead of guessing.
What a score doesn't tell you
A score is a starting point, not a verdict. The right choice depends on your trade, your state and how you work: read the "Good fit if" and "Pick something else if" lines first.
How we're paid
Some "Visit" buttons are partner links, and we may earn a fee if you sign up. It never changes your price or our score. More
