About OwnerUnlocked
New owners get a pile of letters, deadlines and sales calls in their first months, and almost nobody explains what actually matters. We turn public business records into a plain list of next steps for each new company, plus a free website it can use on day one.
What we do
Every day we read new business filings that states and the federal government publish. Each new company gets a page with its exact first-year dates, a checklist for its trade and state, and a simple website the owner can claim and edit. Anyone can also add a business themselves.
Where the information comes from
Company names, cities and filing dates come from public records: state business registries and FMCSA, the federal agency that registers trucking companies. State rules, fees and deadlines come from each state's own website, and every guide links to the official source. Rules change, so we always suggest confirming with the agency before you file.
How we make money
Using OwnerUnlocked is free. Some links are affiliate links, and when you ask us for quotes or help, we pass your request to one partner who may pay us for the introduction. That never changes your price, and we only share your details when you ask us to. More on how we're paid.
What we never do
- Publish home addresses, personal phone numbers or the emails on public filings.
- Pretend to be a government agency, or charge for anything the government gives you free, like an EIN.
- Sell your form details to anyone you didn't ask us to connect you with.
Fix or remove a page
Every company page has a remove link at the bottom, and owners can claim their page to edit it. If something is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
